The Master Plan

The Walmart in our town is going through a major remodeling effort. When you go into this place it seems like mass confusion with many of the items moved from one place to another and nothing in the place that it used to be. It is really frustrating for the customers and the people who regularly work there.

I asked one of the division managers in Walmart where something that I needed was now located. He was kind and courteous as he showed me the item in a new area. You could tell that he had performed that same task many times already that day. So I asked him the question, “Is there a master plan through all of this ciaos for things to get back to normal?”

His response encouraged me. He said, “There is a master plan and when it is completed things will be so much better. The new plan will do a better job of making items more accessible. It is a major headache and mess now but when it is through it will be a big benefit.” I thanked him for his help as well as the encouraging information.

As I walked away it was comforting to know that somebody had designed a master plan for that store with the idea of making things better. The “process” of implementing the new plan was confusing, painful, frustrating, and causing impatience. But there was hope at the end of the process.

God has a Masterplan for this universe, this planet, and our lives. We may think that sometimes the “process” of achieving that plan is frustrating, confusing, painful, and it makes us impatient. But God sees the bigger picture. He sees the end results. When there are wars, natural disasters, murder, violent crimes, crooked politicians, and evil manifested everywhere that we turn, it is easy to question the process.

But we must trust and believe that God IS in control and that He is working all things out for our good and for His glory. He sees things years in advance and knows what is best for us even when we don’t understand or even like it. That is why we must trust Him and know that He loves us and wants what is best for us.

He doesn’t just “remodel” our lives -no when we get saved, He makes us a new creation. This means a fresh start, a new life, and a new way of doing things. Most of us don’t like change in the routines of our lives. But the change that God makes in our life when we become a child of His is the greatest thing that can happen to us. He doesn’t just “patch us up” or give us a fresh coat of paint. No. He makes us new and so stick with Him as He does a new thing in your life. In the end it will be worth the wait. The Master’s plan is always the best.
